SUDDENLY, I HEARD A CRACK

It was  just me and my friend in the middle of a strange island, how did we get here? I can't remember but maybe my Oliver can. We were making our bed then SUDDENLY, I HEARD A CRACK. "What was that." asked Oliver. "Don't know, but we are not the only things living here." I replied. The next day we went out to explore the island and then we saw people eating foods holding guns, we were going to ask them for help then a man in green killed all of them and said " You are in DANGER here."..........

Misty Mountains, THE HOBBIT

  

One of my favourite movies is this movie The Hobbit. This movie is kind of like The Lord Of The Rings, it is more funnier though, my favourite  scene was when the dwarfs were caught by the mountain trolls but when I heard the Misty Mountains song I couldn't stop watching this movie over and over again, I even went on you tube to listen to this song now I've got it on my blog.

Do you think that New Zealand really can be the first country to be a smoke free country?
New Zealand is trying  to be the first smoke free country in the world.


What does Smoke free New Zealand 2025 mean?

• Our children and grandchildren will be free from exposure to tobacco and tobacco use
• The smoking prevalence across all populations will be <5%. The goal is not a ban on smoking.
• Tobacco will be difficult to sell and supply

When I first heard about this I wasn't really sure they would achieve this goal because there are a lot of people that I know who smokes, but now I actually think that they will achieve this goal because they are quitting 1 by 1, there have also been more TV ads about quitting smoke to make people realise that they need to quit smoke and save more of there money.

The government thinks it is a good idea because less people will die before their real time, and it will save a lot of peoples money, they are mainly doing this for the people that don't realise that there money are going on cigarette instead of their real lives.

I really hope that our country will achieve this goal.

TECHNOLOGY

This term in tech our year 8  class are in soft tech, which is sewing. We are making PJ's. It is not easy to make these but luckily we a lot of help from our tech teacher, Mrs Sheat. When we get stuck we always ask for help and she'll come straight away to give us all   the help we need. So far i am doing pretty good and on my way to finishing my PJ's. In the past we have done I.C.T, Food and Soft Tech, and so far Soft Tech has been the best. Can't wait to finish my PJ's.

FORCES OF NATURE

In the past we have had i think two projects. They are: who am I and the novel study Hunter. Our next project is called Forces of Nature. I am doing pretty good so far with my project and i am sure that i will be able yo finish this project. My topic is the Oklahoma Tornado that happened on earlier this year, their are no books about this disaster so i can only get information from the internet, which is pretty hard because i cant use anything else to give me facts and information.

This is my favourite fight because it has two of my favourite heroes. This is a very long video so you might want to skip the starting bit which is introducing both of these heroes and talking about their weaknesses, what makes them stronger and waht their special powers are.

WATER ROCKETS

                              This video was made by Mr Theobald on Discovery Day. I really enjoyed this activity and stayed on this most of the time. I helped lots of kids and about 90% of them failed...... Especially Fereti who thought his one was going to be real good.... Nekk minnitt.

MY INQUIRY ON DRUGS!

Recently our Kakapo class had just finished our inquiry about the Human Body.
I focused on Drugs and how it effects our bodies and our brains,
I learnt a lot of things about how Drugs effect us and the consequences of taking Drugs so that when i grow up i won't take Drugs.

Here are 3 consequences to help you not to take Drugs when you grow up:
*Drugs makes you aggressive and makes you feel angry all the time so it might make you kill someone or hurt someone without knowing because of the Drug.
*You will have to owe people lots of money and you won't have any money to do anything else but take Drugs.
*Your family will move away from you and even your friends might leave you  and you'll have no one to play with or to talk to.

This is my inquiry project, we started working on them after we finished our 'Who am I' project witch was week 10. I chose to do Syria because I believe that they do have the worst issues and that this war going on won't end soon.

Today the Tui class came over to our class and we had to teach them one thing or more if we wanted to. I taught my buddy how to read and I taught her how to throw rocks....which was really fun. My buddy's name is Dakota. All the time she kept on asking me if she could go to Emi and Peta but i kept saying no so she started punching me.... but she was still cool.

Bruce Lee is my inspirational person because he was good at Martial Arts, he was the best at it while he was still alive and i liked his movies like Fist Of Fury,Way Of Dragon and Bruce Lee A Warriors Journey.

I want to be good boy, being the best at what I do and try my best at school just like Bruce Lee.
